World bosses have been a new concept in Diablo 4. The previous iterations of Diablo had a much more closed concept that only ventured into multiplayer during group play.
With the world being opened and evolved, Diablo 4 has added a new event that spawns at certain points of the day – The World Boss event.
Killing these dangerous foes, rewards the player with legendary loot and a weekly cache.
1. Ashava the Pestilent
Asahava is a giant dragon-like creature that breathes poison on the players.
It has a giant swipe attack that can one-shot adventurers that aren’t geared.
She has no immunity, which means she is damageable in all phases of battle.
Poison elixirs are a big bonus to bring along for this fight. As well as having poison resistances.
Melee characters should stay towards the center of Ashava while ranged should look to stay at max range of her.
2. Avarice the Gold Cursed
At first glimpse, Avarice looks like a giant treasure goblin but unlike a treasure goblin, Avarice doesn’t run away. In fact, he makes you run.
He carries a giant treasure chest and a monstrous hammer that he loves swinging players with.
Any unfortunate victim found within swiping distance is sure to make their way back to the spirit world.
Both melee and ranged should stay directly underneath him to avoid all his attacks.
He jumps into a treasure portal and emerges with a giant attack which can easily be evaded.
Once you’ve defeated this mighty foe, be sure to attack his large treasure chest for bonus loot.
3. The Wandering Death
A gigantic wraith with its skeletal body makes up for the visage of the Wandering Death.
Wandering Death’s biggest attack is the triple beams that it shoots out of its body and swirls around.
Players will have to move in a circle while attacking to avoid the beams.
Apart from this the Wandering Death spawns circles that have to be moved out of as soon as you see them. It also does a ground smash that is devastating for anyone caught in its wake.
The boss also tosses a circle of spikes and spawns bone rings that blow up at random intervals.
Spawn Location of the World Bosses
World Bosses in Diablo 4 have the potential to emerge from five distinct locations spread across the expansive realm of Sanctuary. These locations include:
- Caen Adar nestled in the heart of Scosglen.
- The Crucible, a formidable locale found within the rugged expanse of Fractured Peaks.

- Seared Basin, a scorching region located in the vibrant land of Kehjistan.
- The Fields of Desecration, an ominous area hidden within the haunting landscape of Hawezar.
