Many old favorites make their return like Genji, Mercy, Tracer, Brigitte, etc.

And newer heroes like Sojourn and Junker Queen make their debut in this most-awaited sequel.

Sojourn is a DPS hero that utilizes the Railgun. Accuracy is key for the player to make the best out of her kit. She is a high-skill ceiling hero, and hence, newer players will have some starting trouble when aiming with her.

Junker Queen is set to be a tank hero. Her abilities put her in a ‘Berserker’ skill role, where the more damage she does, the better she survives. Her skills involve applying wounds and restoring life via lifesteal. With just 1 tank in each team, her role becomes invaluable.

Many heroes like Orisa, Bastion, and Doomfist have had reworks that have removed their iconic abilities that players have been used to and in their place, new ones are added.

Overwatch 2 – New Maps

Using the trend of utilizing real-world locations as a map base, OW2 introduces 4 new PvE maps. Monte Carlo, Gothenburg, Rio De Janeiro, and Toronto are the new locations.

Many of the old maps received a time-based setting. For example, King’s Row has a daytime mode, while Eichenwalde received a ‘Golden Hour’ makeover.

New PvP maps such as Midtown, Colloseo, Circuit Royal, and New Queen Street are introduced.

Conclusion – Massive Changes to the Original Overwatch

Unlike the prequel using 6-man groups, OW2 will utilize a 5-man setup with 1 less tank.

Overwatch 2 is also set to replace the existing game entirely. The new Overwatch 2 PvP will replace the existing Overwatch PvP system.

Players that loved the original game for its features, will have to get used to the new 5v5 setup.
