Ever since Diablo Immortal launched, it’s been the talk of the town for its pay to win game model. In spite of the heavy backlash, the game has over 30 million players, and has made over $100 million in revenue.
One aspect of the game that’s undergoing change is – the Legendary Crests. Using crests, players can open Elder Rifts, which are similar to Nephalem Rifts from Diablo 3. These rifts offer runes and legendary gems as rewards to players brave enough to enter them.
The proposed change is to change the color and shape of Legendary crests to differentiate them from Eternal Legendary Crests (these are bought with real money).
The current artwork is as follows.
- Rare Crest (Teal)
- Eternal Legendary Crest (Purple)
- Legendary Crest (Orange)
Apart from the color change, the crests are shaped differently to help color-blind users.
Lead designer Wyatt Cheng revealed these details in a reddit post.
