PS5 is Getting a Price Increase Soon

Sony’s Playstation 5 is about to get more expensive due to global demand and economic inflation. According to Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the retail prices of PS5 are going to soar in 2022.

The following countries will see a rising cost to the popular gaming console.

  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Middle East
  • Latin America
  • India
  • China Japan
  • Australia

It looks like United States is the only market where there won’t be a price increase.

If you belong to any of the price increase countries, now would be a good time to grab a console at a bargain.

Considering the PS5 remains sold-out in many retail stores, the demand for a PS5 is going to be ever high.

The exact dates aren’t announced in the post, but this move shows that the console industry is set to get costlier in the future.

According to Ampere Analysis, Sony has sold over 21 million PS5 units until June 2022. Their biggest competitor – Microsoft, has sold over 13 million units in the same time.
